Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at admin@coalitionafrica.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

A safari is a one of kind vacation which allows you to escape the stresses of day to day life and gives you the opportunity to immerse yourself in the natural world. It is an experience that forces you to loose track of time and develop a greater connection with the simple pleasures in which the wilderness has to offer.

A good option for your first safari experience would be South Africa. Not only is South Africa easily accessible, there are also many reliable options when it comes to local travel. South Africa offers some of the best game reserve in Africa with exceptional game viewing opportunities, beautiful accommodation and warm and friendly hospitality.

A safari is an amazing experience for all generations, children included. Whilst not all lodges accept children, there are many which do. Ultimately we recommend booking a private vehicle as this will give you more flexibility and peace of mind. If your children are of an age where they can form memories, a safari can be an incredibly reward and exciting family holiday.

Some destinations are malaria-free as the risk of malaria is dependant on the location of your safari. While some safari destinations within Southern Africa do pose a fair risk, there are many precautionary measure one can take to remain safe. However we would not recommend travelling to these areas with small children/infants. Coalition Africa will always provide extensive information regarding this during the safari planning process.

This is largely dependant on what your expectations are, however the most popular months are generally May to September. Due to this being winter in the southern hemisphere, temperatures are cooler yet still pleasant, highly reduced change of rain, this also means less vegetations thus making it easier to spot animals. Despite increased chance of thunder showers summer months also have benefits such as fewer tourists and vibrant green scenery along with the return of many migratory bird species.
